It's been a year

I took the MCAT again last summer, while in San Francisco. It was actually pretty ridiculous - I had only been there for two weeks before taking the test. I spent the rest of the summer doing research at UC Berkeley. And then there was this application cycle - it was completely unexpected. I applied to 13 schools, received 10 interview offers, and accepted 9 of those offers. They included UT San Antonio, UT Houston, UT Southwestern, Baylor, Stanford, Johns Hopkins, Harvard, WashU, UCSF, and Vanderbilt (cancelled). It's been exhausting.

Literary agents and whatnot

Once upon a time...

I wrote a book. It was a rather enjoyable endeavor. I've been trying to write a book since about 7th grade, when I attempted a poorly written detective story. (That's not to say this one isn't poorly written.) So since I devoted countless hours to finishing my tome... I figured I would try to get it published. Of course, it's never that easy. Okay, so I've only sent out two query letters. Two rejections. One was merited... my book isn't exactly mainstream romance. Well, come to think of it, the other one was probably merited as well. She answered very quickly. I'm guessing she didn't like my plot. Or my writing style. Or both. Heh.

Maybe I should be working on my personal statements instead.
